When did Fisher-Price stop making Little People? ›

Brad Cassity's Fisher-Price Toys was published in the year 2000 and covers many Fisher-Price toys made from 1964 to 1990. It shows all the Little People sets and their pieces, plus some variations through the production run. Many of the toys shown in the book were owned by members of the Fisher-Price Collectors Club.

We have club members who literally have every set, with the original boxes too, of course! The second most collected toys are the older Fisher-Price wooden pull toys, some of which go back to the early 1930's! We also have die-hard Adventure People collectors, they love their stuff!

The tiny, stylized plastic population of Fisher-Price's playsets were originally affixed to toys and not removable. But with the arrival of the Safety Bus in 1959, kids could take out the passengers and imagine all kinds of possible activities with them.

The key to Little People's success has always been the playset. For one price, kids got figures, accessories, a vehicle, and a building they could use as the basis for their tiny adventures.
